摘要
Cosmopolitan approaches to International Relations have generally failed to address the practical implications of their postulates. This paper examines how one international social movement-international socialism-attempted to put the theoretical tenets of cosmopolitanism into political practice. The author explores the various obstacles encountered by the movement and, based on this analysis, it is argued that two historical forces-class and the state-should lie at the centre of any reformulation of cosmopolitan politics.
