摘要
A study was made of radiation-induced changes in the tensile properties and dynamic viscoelastic properties of poly(oxy-1,4-phenylenesulfonyl-1,4-phenylene), oly(oxy-1,4-phenylenesulfonyl-1,4-phenyleneoxy-1,4-phenyleneisopropy lidene-1,4-phenylene), and, for the sake of comparison, poly(oxy-1,4-phenyleneisopropylidenephthalate). They were irradiated by an electron beam at a dose rate of 0. 5 Mrad/s in air. The tensile tests were carried out at 25 degree C at an elongation rate of 200 mm/min on specimens in the form of JIS No. 4 dumbbells. The dynamic viscoelastic properties were measured over the temperature range minus 160 to 220 degree C by a torsion-pendulum-type apparatus with a frequency range of 1-3 Hz.
