A NEW METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE SUPERCONDUCTING TL2CABA2CU2O8 COMPOUND

摘要
Superconducting Tl2CaBa2Cu2O8 with a Tc of 110 K was prepared by using the single-phase CaBa2CuO4 compound as the Ca and Ba source in the starting powder. Compared with the conventional method uses CaO and BaCuO2 as the Ca and Ba sources, this new method enables a lower calcining temperature and/or a shorter calcining time for the formation of the 110 K superconducting compound. Since CaBa2CuO4 remain stable after being ground in methanol and hexane, this material is suitable for wet processing prior to calcination.
