The output of a dye laser that is synchronously pumped by the second harmonic of a self mode-locked femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser is mixed in a BBO crystal with the fundamental of the pump laser to achieve femtosecond pulses tunable between 1230 nm and 1760 nm at approximately 80 MHz repetition rate.
