COSMOGENIC HE-3 PRODUCTION-RATES FROM 39-DEGREES-N TO 46-DEGREES-N LATITUDE, WESTERN USA AND FRANCE

摘要
The in-situ production rate of cosmogenic He-3 was determined in seven different olivine- or pyroxene-bearing rocks between the latitudes 39-degrees-N and 46-degrees-N. The integrated production rate over the last 17,500 years is about 115 +/- 4 atoms/gram/yr for high latitude at sea level. The variation in the integrated production rate between 2000 and 18,000 years is less than 30% and is probably on the order of 20% or less.
