摘要
We study the long time behavior of a vertex model for two-dimensional normal grain growth. This model is rather simplified to simulate the asymptotic law of normal grain growth and thus, for example, cannot deal with curved grain boundaries. However, this model is expected to capture an essence of grain growth. We discuss two typical aspects of grain growth, that is, (1) the asymptotic growth law of the average grain size, and (2) the asymptotic statistical behavior of topological properties such as a grain shape distribution. Performing large scale computer simulations we confirm that the average grain size grows in time t as t 1 2, and the asymptotically stationary scaling regime exists. © 1990.
