摘要
A series of alloys containing different amounts of carbides was investigated in order to obtain better knowledge of the abrasion resistance for white cast iron. The metallurgical structure was determined for ten alloys; three-body abrasion experiments were then carried out. The abrasion resistance and topographical parameters were measured systematically at different stages of the abrasive process. A relationship between the metallurgical structure, the abrasion resistance and the rate of abrasion were clearly established for molybdenum white cast irons. A mechanism is proposed for the abrasion process.
