This study concerns a superabsorbent polymer. For each pair of pressure P and temperature T values we have determined the hydration ratio at equilibrium, which enabled the equilibrium P - T diagram of the system to be plotted. It is established that this kind of solid is characterised by multilayer adsorption and capillary condensation. The isosteric adsorption enthalpy value (about 42 kJ per mole of water) is independent of the quantity of adsorbed water on the polymer. The polymer specific area is approximately 0.8 m2 g-1.
