摘要
The metallurgical structure, composition, hardness and abrasive wear resistance of a plasma-sprayed layer were characterized following melting of the layer by a CO2 laser. the hardness of the melted layer was determined and found to be very high, this is because of the presence of tungsten carbides. The use of a low energy laser leads to minimal melting of the substrate, whereby the properties of the original plasma layer are presented and at the same time its structural uniformity and its adhesion to the substrate are improved. © 1990.
