摘要
As the result of years of work, a new, quantitative treatment of the geometrical attributes of metallic fracture surfaces has emerged. Modern advances utilize the powerful relationships of stereology to give quantitative descriptions of the fracture surface and its characteristics, permitting better correlations of fractographic features with mechanical properties as well as the formulation of more accurate fracture mechanisms. © 1990 TMS.
