摘要
The electrical characteristics of thin films of monoclinic lead phthalocyanine have been studied as a function of substrate temperature during deposition, in situ under vacuum and after exposure to both oxygen and air. The effects of annealing in oxygen were also studied. Both ohmic and space charge-limited conductivity were observed. Conductivity-temperature data indicated a band gap energy in the range 1.56-1.84 eV. The energy of the dominant acceptor level was found to change after annealing and also after exposure to oxygen or air, in each case due to changes in the oxygen concentration in the PbPc lattice. The importance of oxygen diffusion into the bulk of the Pc layer precludes the use of PbPc as an oxygen sensing material where a rapid response is required.
