90-DEGREES S-BENDS IN TI-LINBO(3) WAVE-GUIDES WITH LOW LOSSES

摘要
The realization of 90-degrees-S-bends in Ti:LiNbO3-waveguides with excess-losses below 2 dB and a bend radius of 5 mm are reported for the first time. The method is based on a simultaneous thickening and asymmetrical broadening of the deposited Ti-stripes in the bends and an additionally indiffusion of MgO at the outer sides of the bent sections.
