摘要
Single daily administration of antibiotics has always been a desired goal of many physicians, scientists, medical economists, and last but not least, patients. The ease of administration coupled with reduced need for hospital stay, and consequently with reduced hospital costs, is naturally an important issue at a period of shrinking financial resources. The beta‐lactam antibiotics have been around for almost half the century, and because of their superb record of safety and activity against many bacteria, were the ideal candidates for the early experiments in the test tube, in animals and in humans for the once‐a‐day administration attempts. 1992 American College of Clinical Pharmacology
