摘要：

The properties and method of manufacture of hydrous UO2, developed as an adsorbent material for the removal of activity from nuclear waste-processing operations, are outlined. The material absorbs a wide variety of radionuclides, especially actinide elements. In reprocessing operations it can be dissolved with nuclear fuels so does not have to be encapsulated in concrete for safe storage.
