TRANSIENT-BEHAVIOR OF FREQUENCY-DOUBLING MODE-LOCKER - NUMERICAL-ANALYSIS

摘要
Pulse shortening of ultrashort light pulses due to reflection from a frequency-doubling nonlinear mirror is investigated theoretically by numerical simulation. Self- and cross-phase modulation induced inside the nonlinear crystal, input phase modulation and group velocity mismatch are included in the analysis. It is shown that even a small degree of phase modulation improves the pulse shortening capabilities in contrast to the case when only group velocity mismatch is taken into account. The results can be used for optimisation of frequency-doubling nonlinear mirrors, i.e. to choose the type of the nonlinear crystal and its length.
