STUDY FROM 1HZ TO 109HZ OF THE DIELECTRIC-RELAXATION IN A,X,Y,M,ZSM5 ZEOLITES

We report an experimental study of the dielectric properties of synthetic zeolites performed in a wide frequency range (1Hz - 1GHz). For all the studied samples (A, X, Y, M, ZSM5 type zeolites), the existence of a dielectric relaxation domain (domain 2) is put forward for the first time to our knowledge. Domain 2 is interpreted with a previous published model based on collective motions of the cations in a microscopic volume ("cluster"). In this paper, we complete the model by showing that all the cations participate to the observed electrical polarization and for X and Y zeolites that the jumps are preferentially initiated by the cations situated in SIII' sites. At last, we show from the amplitude of domain 2 that it is possible to infer an order of magnitude of the loss of cristallinity (due to a bad synthesis of a zeolite or to a dealumination process for example).
