DIFFUSELY SCATTERED 2ND-HARMONIC GENERATION FROM A SILVER FILM DUE TO SURFACE-PLASMONS

摘要
We have measured the surface normal scattering of optical second harmonic generation (SHG) from a silver film due to excitation of surface plasmons. Previous researchers reported a narrow angular (similar to 0.5 degrees) p-polarized SHG distribution. Instead we observe a broad ( similar to 90 degrees) unpolarized distribution both for smooth and roughened silver films.
