PHASE-DIAGRAMS AND TRICRITICAL EFFECTS IN THE BEG MODEL

摘要
The critical properties of the spin-1 Ising model on the Bethe lattice with dipolar and quadrupolar exchange interactions are studied exactly. This method is based on recursion relations, which are exact in the infinite-dimensional case, and as a result the phase diagrams are constructed. The lambda-line ending in the tricritical point is defined exactly. It is shown that when the quadrupolar exchange interaction is large enough, the tricritical point disappears. The tricritical exponents are calculated exactly.
