INFLUENCE OF WORK-HARDENING ON THE REACTIVE STRESS IN A TINI SHAPE-MEMORY ALLOY

摘要
The reactive stresses in tensile-prestrained specimens of a hot-rolled TiNi shape memory alloy containing 49.5 at.% Ni (specimens A) were studied. The investigated alloy consisted of the martensitic structure at room temperature. Some specimens were further cold rolled with a reduction of 15% (specimens B). The reactive stresses attained with the work-hardened specimens are markedly higher than those with the hot-rolled specimens.
