INFORMATION ON EFFECTIVE INTERACTIONS FROM EXPERIMENTAL SINGLE-PARTICLE ENERGIES

摘要
A method is presented for obtaining centroids of the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction directly from measured single-particle energies. An application to nuclei in the mass region A=28 to 56 is provided to illustrate the technique. Uncertainties in the centroids are estimated at 100 keV or less, except in cases of exceptional fragmentation of the single-particle strength. Methods such as the one proposed here can be used to place constraints on realistic interactions calculated from bare nucleon-nucleon potentials, which are known to possess defective centroids in many cases. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
