摘要
The planform functions that describe one- and two-dimensional patterns that can possibly form at a ferrofluid interface following normal field instability are classified according to their symmetry characteristics. The evolution of hexagonal and triangular patterns beyond the onset of the instability and their relative stability are studied. © 1990.
