IMPEDANCE STUDY OF POLYPYRROLE FILMS DOPED WITH TETRATHIOMOLYBDATE ANIONS AND CONTAINING MOLYBDENUM TRISULFIDE

Polypyrrole films doped with tetrathiomolybdate anions and containing molybdenum trisulfide have been studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Quantitative estimate of the charge-transport rate in the composite material as a function of potential have been obtained. The dependence of the impedance behavior of the film on potential and film thicknesses have been also systematically studied. The results are interpreted on the basis of an adatom model. An equivalent circuit based on this model is proposed. The validity of this model to describe the behavior of the polymer electrode both in its neutral and oxidized states has been demonstrated, and a comparison with another model has been made.
