EPR STUDY ON THE INCORPORATION OF FE(III) IONS IN ZSM-5 ZEOLITES IN DEPENDENCE ON THE PREPARATION CONDITIONS

摘要
The incorporation of Fe(III) ions in tetrahedral Si(IV) lattice sites and cationic positions in the pores of ZSM-5 zeolites has been investigated by means of e.p.r. spectroscopy in dependence on the iron and aluminum concentration in the synthetic mixtures, the pH value of the initial solution, the stepwise exchange of Na+ by NH4+ ions, and the calcination of the NH4 to the H form. The percentage of Fe(III) ions at Si(IV) positions rises with increasing iron content to a saturation limit at ratios of Si/Fe < 30. In the presence of aluminum, the Al(III) ions are preferably located at lattice positions, the Fe(III) ions being pushed into the pores. The magnetic interaction between the iron ions in lattice sites and in the pores of the zeolite is influenced by the ion-exchange processes.
