摘要
First, it is shown that the geometry of natural rounded aggregates can be simulated by using an appropriate morphological law. With the computer-generated particles, arbitrary composite structures can be generated. Any particle size distribution can be taken into consideration. By analyzing a great number of random sections through a three-dimensional composite structure, a two-dimensional cumulative size distribution is obtained. The analysis of sections is further used to investigate the specific properties of the surface layer of a composite material such as concrete. If the generated composite structures are represented by means of a finite element mesh, a detailed numerical analysis is possible. Two examples for the potential application of this approach are described.
