POLYETHYLENE SURFACE-CHEMISTRY

Procedures and strategies for the synthesis and analysis of surface functionalized polyethylene are reviewed. Chemistry that introduces functional groups onto polyethylene surfaces, analytical procedures that can be used to characterize such surfaces and further synthetic manipulations of such functional groups are described. Reactions that use existing or introduced functional groups at polyethylene surfaces for surface graft polymerization are also discussed.
