摘要
The paper reports on a study to determine removal of nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) upon chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone treatment under conditions characteristic for drinking water treatment practice; and possible formation of mutagenic substances from the reaction of NTA with these oxidants. Also studied was the formation of the halogenated reaction products of NTA with chlorine and chlorine dioxide, as far as analyses of the group parameters adsorbable organic halogens, extractable organic halogens and volatile organic halogens allow.
