ZIRCONIUM(IV) OXIDE-COATED SILICA-GEL SURFACE AS A BASE FOR COPPER HEXACYANOFERRATE IMMOBILIZATION

摘要
Copper hexacyanoferrate complex was immobilized on a thin ZrO2 film coated SiO2 surface. The small surface density of the chemical species suggested that the complex was highly dispersed on the surface (specific surface area of 420 m(2) g(-1)) like small islands. Cyclic voltammetric data from a carbon paste electrode made with the material showed a selective permeation toward Li+, Na+, K+ and NH4+, according to their hydrated diameter size. The redox process was blocked for Li+ and Na+, while for K+ and NH4+ ions the midpoint potentials were 0.69 V and 0.75 V, respectively. The dependence of peak potential on the concentrations of the supporting electrolytes indicated a quasi Nernstian behavior for the K+ and NH4+ ions.
