摘要
Responses by 258 school psychologists to a 50-item role activity questionnaire were analyzed in an effort to better study two particular variables: role relevance and role engagement. The relevance and engagement data were factor analyzed, and the resulting factors were then examined with regard to sex, age, and work setting variables. In contrast to previous studies, which have tended to focus exclusively on the school setting, our sample included school psychologists whose primary job affiliations were identified as either school, academic, private practice, clinical treatment, or other settings. The role activity implications of the data are discussed, and the nature and character of contemporary school psychology are considered.
