摘要
A study of the competitive adsorption of organic compounds onto granular activated carbon was made with or without electrochemical polarisation of the adsorbent. Chosen models were chloroform/benzoic acid and chloroform/phenol. Without polarisation the presence of a second compound in the solution induces a, reduction of the adsorption of the first one. A positive polarisation increases adsorption of chloroform, reducing those of phenol or benzoic acid. A negative polarisation has the inverse effect. A molecular model is proposed to justify these phenomena.
