INFRARED-ABSORPTION AND SCATTERING OF LARGE CLUSTERS OF CARBON-DIOXIDE AND NITROUS-OXIDE

摘要
The diffusive trapping technique has been used to produce clusters of carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide molecules of sufficient size to significantly scatter infrared radiation. Details of the scattering background in the infrared spectra of these clusters enable a size distribution to be determined. Features of the spectra suggest novel methods for observing solid-state and matrix isolated spectra.
