摘要
The inspection and profilometry of curved objects is an interesting problem in industrial machine vision. The application of a CCD camera operating in the rime delay and integration (TDI) mode, for imaging and contouring the complete periphery of curved objects, is described in this paper. The experimental arrangement is based on projection moire principles. Rotation of the curved object permits the TDI camera to record a grating pattern modulated by any defect or deformation on the object. Equal depth contours are derived from the deformed grating pattern by using the logical moire and the scanning moire techniques Derails of the experimental setup and the moire contouring principles are explained. The capability of the system is demonstrated by recording the contours of a dented can and a mannequin head.
