MEAN-FIELD NONLINEAR-OPTICAL SUSCEPTIBILITY OF CHARGE-TRANSFER CRYSTALS

摘要
An analytic expression for the static third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility, chi(3), for charge-transfer (CT) molecular crystals is derived under a mean-field approximation. For CT crystals with 2epsilon0 almost-equal-to 1 eV and t/epsilon0 greater than or similar to 1/2 (2epsilon0 is the CT bandgap and t is the CT resonance integral), values for nonresonant chi(3) are shown to be comparable to that of the conjugated polymer PTS.
