We present a series of models for the triple arc in Cl 0024 + 1654 based on reconstructions using lens models with a smooth cluster potential and two perturbing galaxies. The algorithm makes no assumptions about the structure of the source, and it uses an objective error measure. We produce very good inversions of the arc structure. The velocity dispersion of the cluster is not uniquely determined because of a parameter degeneracy between the core radius of the cluster and the asymptotic bending angle of the cluster. Typical solutions give cluster velocity dispersions of 1100-1400 km s-1 for source redshifts between z(s) = 2 and z(s) = 1, consistent with dynamical estimates for this system, and cluster core radii of 10''-20'' or (30-60)h-1 kpc. Acceptable models need the two perturbing galaxies near the middle arc segment, and we estimate that the two galaxies have critical radii of b(A) = 1''.3 and b(B) = 1''.1, respectively. Such critical radii are typical for L approximately L* galaxies if z(s) greater-than-or-similar-to 2. Elliptical models for the perturbing galaxies do not significantly reduce the residuals from the results for spherical galaxies.
