摘要
A molybdenum(VI) complex of the type MoO2(ONO) (ONO is a dibasic tridentate Schiff base ligand H2SAE), reacts with imidazole or its derivatives (L) to yield [MoO2(ONO)(L)] complexes that are yellow, diamagnetic, non-electrolytic octahedral complexes. The IR spectra have three characteristic bands in the region 890-940 cm-1, attributable to the cis-MoO2 stretching vibrations in addition to the vibrations of the Schiff base ligand and the imidazole ligand. The H-1 NMR spectra reveal the coordination of the ligands to the MoO2(2+) core. Cyclic voltammetric measurements provide the cathodic reduction potentials (E(pc)) for the irreversible reduction of the molybdenum(VI) complexes and in all cases this value spans the range from - 1.1 to - 1.2 V vs Ag/AgCl.
