摘要
Solid solution alloys exhibit a deviation from creep by viscous glide at high stress levels, and this behavior may be interpreted in terms of the break-away of dislocations from their solute atmospheres. Calculations are described to determine the magnitude of the dragging stress over a range of dislocation velocities. Using published data for an Al-5. 0% Mg alloy undergoing steady-state creep with a stress exponent of 3, the predicted average dislocation velocities are in agreement with reported values to within a factor of 3.
