CHERN-SIMONS MATTER SYSTEMS WITH MANIFEST N = 2 SUPERSYMMETRY

摘要
We formulate an N = 2 supersymmetric abelian Chern-Simons Higgs system in N = 2 superspace and show that the restricted form of the component scalar field potential originates in the nonexistence of explicit U(1) invariant potential terms for the N = 2 matter superfield. We also construct the nonabelian N = 2 superfield Chern-Simons matter action and reveal general restrictions imposed by N = 2 supersymmetry on the corresponding scalar field potentials, under the assumption that the gauge group includes a U(1) factor. These potentials are just those needed for the existence of nonabelian Chern-Simons self-dual vortices.
