摘要
Some of the extraordinary physical and optical characteristics of nematic liquid crystals are uniquely suited for nonlinear optical studies and applications, especially in the infrared spectral regime. The results are presented of new theoretical and experimental studies of the infrared optical nonlinearities of nematic liquid crystals and novel two- and multi-wave mixing effects. These effects will find applications in nonlinear wave mixing devices. © 1990 Taylor & Francis Ltd.
