摘要
Eight, ten, and twelve functional groups can be introduced by the double-branching of the methyl groups in polymethyl hydrocarbon-pi ligands. The one-pot reaction of [CpFe(eta-6-1,2,4,5-Me4C6H2)] with allylbromide provides iron complex 1 (75% yield) which can be converted to the analogous octol or cleaved photochemically to liberate the octaallyl ligand. FE = CpFe+.
