INFLUENCE OF CORTICOSTERONE IMPLANTATION IN LIMBIC STRUCTURE UPON BIOSYNTHESIS OF ADRENOCORTICAL STEROID

摘要
Minute amounts of solid corticostcrone were implanted in the hippocampus and amygdala, and the resultant change in biosynthctic activity of corticosteroids was estimated by the technique described previously by Kawakami et a/. [1968]. Corticostcrone implants in CA2 and CA3 (cormts ammonis) of the hippocampus resulted in an increase in corticostcrone hiosynthesis, while those in CA1 (aheus + fascia dentata) of the hippocampus induced almost no change. On the other hand, corticostcrone implants in the central, lateral basal, and medial nuclei of amygdala resulted in a decrease in corticosteroid biosynthesis, while those in the cortical nucleus of amygdala induced no such change. © 1968 S.
