摘要
Studies of the safety and reliability of secondary lithium batteries (Li/MoS2) have included the effects of cell failures in multicell battery packs. Both premature and normal end-of-life failures have been considered. Methods suitable for the development of realistic estimates for safety and reliability, without resorting to impractical, high volume test regimes, are described. A number of common failure modes and their effect upon multicell Li/MoS2 batteries are also described, along with test regimes suitable for quantifying the effects.
