BIOTRANSFORMATION OF 4-NITROPHENOL BY A FERMENTER GROWN CELL-SUSPENSION CULTURE OF SOYBEAN (GLYCINE-MAX) - ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF CONJUGATES

摘要
A fermenter grown cell suspension culture of soybean (Glycine max L.) metabolized 4-nitrophenol by glucosylation to 1(O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)-4-nitrobenzene, and subsequently processed the P-glucoside by malonylation at position 6 of the glucose moiety yielding 1(6'-O-malonyl-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)-4-nitrobenzene. With regard to the soluble metabolites, the soybean cells cultivated in the modified airlift fermenter (3-1 working volume) did not show any significant differences to the corresponding batch cultures grown in 100-ml shake flasks. The metabolites accumulating in the cells were identified by TLC, HPLC, H-1- and C-13-NMR spectroscopy.
