摘要
Several decomposition techniques for a spent ion exchange resin from nuclear power plants are being developed with a view towards reducing radioactive waste volume and also making the final waste form more stable. One technique, oxidation, decomposes the resin in an oxygen atmosphere. In such a system, reaction rate, which is the most important parameter of resin oxidation, changes with several factors. One of the factors, the impurities in the resin such as metallic ions and crud, is discussed in this paper. The effect of impurities on resin reaction rate is described.
