CHARGE CARRIER TRANSPORT IN POLY(PHENYLENE VINYLENE) FILMS

摘要
Peculiarities of charge carrier transport in phenyl-substituted poly(phenylene vinylene)s of various structures are considered. Time-of-flight measurements were carried out to study the influence of applied electric field, temperature and matrix polarity on the transport of charge carriers in these polymers. In poly(phenylene vinylene)s the transport of charge carriers is controlled by trapping on charged traps (charged-trap-limited band transport) and experimental data are interpreted in terms of the Poole-Frenkel model. The values of both electron mobility and hole mobility (mu(e) = 2.6 x 10(-8) m2 V-1 s-1 at F = 6 x 10(7) V m-1 and T = 278 K, mu(h) = 7 x 10(-9) m2 V-1 s-1 at F = 6 x 10(7) V m-1 and T = 294 K) are higher than in other polymer systems.
