Predicting agency awareness acquiescence in physicians

This study replicated previous research which had shown that agency awareness estimates found in the typical needs assessment study are probably inflated. Physician respondents who exhibited ''agency awareness acquiescence'' (i.e. reported being aware of a fictitious agency) also reported being aware of more real agencies. Unfortunately, the study was not able to identify many variables that were correlated with agency awareness acquiescence. Age, expression of acquiescence on other measures, and knowledge of the elderly were not correlated with agency awareness acquiescence. Although there was some evidence to suggest that social desirability is correlated with agency awareness acquiescence, this study did not use a conventional measure of social desirability.
