IMPULSIVELY LOADED FULLY FIXED-ENDED ELASTIC-PLASTIC BEAMS BY GALERKIN METHOD

In another paper [U. LEPIK, Dynamic response of elastic-plastic beams with axial constraints. Int. J. ImPact Engng 15(1), 3-16] the problem of the dynamic response of fully clamped beams under transverse impulsive loading was considered and an approximate solution with elastic vibrations subsequent to the peak deflection was proposed. The validity of such an solution is discussed in the present paper. In order to reduce the computation time the equations of motion are integrated using Galerkin's method.
