摘要
Hexamethyldisiloxane [HMDS, (Me3Si)2O] has been found to be a useful solvent modifier for analytical studies of certain herbicides which contain aromatic rings. This solvent causes large bathochromic shifts in the π→π* bands relative to nonpolar solvents such as hexane. In the specific case of trifluralin this leads to a significant signal enhancement at 254 nm. Potential value for the analysis of herbicides by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is discussed. © 1993 Academic Press. All rights reserved.
