摘要
New chromophoric amphiphiles consisting of optically active 1- or 2-naphthylalanines, each carrying two long alkyl chains and an ammonium ion, were synthesized. These amphiphiles were found to form vesicular structures in aqueous dispersion, and those having two octadecyl chains showed a gel-liquid crystalline transition around room temperature. UV and CD spectra showed exciton-type interactions for the 2-naphthyl amphiphiles in a high-energy excited state but no dimers or higher aggregates of the naphthyl groups in the ground state. Fluorescence spectra showed monomer and excimer emissions. The circularly polarized fluorescence spectra showed a positive signal at the excimer emission, indicating a chiral excimer configuration. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
