ADSORPTION OF KRYPTON ON GRAFOIL PREPLATED WITH CARBON-TETRACHLORIDE AT 77-K

摘要
Adsorption of krypton on Grafoil with various amounts of carbon tetrachloride preadsorbed is studied volumetrically at 77 K. CCl4 preadsorbed in a monolayer or submonolayer is displaced and accumulated into a limited surface region with a mean thickness of about three layers by a post adsorbed Kr film. These results show a marked contrast to previous ones on N2/CCl4 coadsorption on the same substrate surface. The different coadsorption modes for Kr/CCl4 and N2/CCl4 are discussed in terms of molecular interaction energetics.
