摘要
A method for calculating the biomechanical load on the spine (at L3) and certain muscles in the back is described. It utilizes a small computer on-line to a force platform and the results are obtainable within a few seconds. The method, which has been devised to evaluate aspects of industrial seating, deals with vertical acceleration as well as trunk movements. It does not deal with horizontally imposed forces. It is shown to be quicker and more accurate than calculations using manual measurements of displacement and can be applied in both the field and the laboratory.
