2,4-DIFLUOROANILINE AND 4-FLUOROANILINE EXPOSURE - MONITORING BY METHEMOGLOBIN AND URINE ANALYSES

摘要
Two possible methods for monitoring plant worker exposure to 2,4-difluoroaniline and 4-fluoroaniline were investigated: measurement of methemoglobin content in blood and measurement of urinary metabolites. Experiments using rats dosed by the oral route as a model system showed that measurement of methemoglobin content provided a rapid and simple monitoring method, but was not sensitive. Measurement of the o-hydroxy metabolites of the 2 compounds, as their benzoxazole derivatives, provided a more sensitive, but complicated technique. Details of both methods were presented.
